Your consultation is the most important first step; sitting down with your cake designer and expressing your ideas for your cake.  You should expect to spend at least two hours at this meeting and bring any photos, sketches, magazines or any other item you feel helps you express your thoughts.

For weddings, anniversary's, birthdays or themed events it's a great idea to bring something from the event like an invitation, a party favor, color scheme, et cetera that can be incorporated into the design of your cake.  If you're still uncertain and need creative guidance, no problem.  We love being creative and collaborating to help you find the perfect design.

This is your opportunity to ask questions, discuss your options and know that you are completely comfortable and satisfied with your design decisions.   So please take a moment now and let us know as much as you can about your perfect cake.   A few things to keep in mind are the number of people you would like to feed and your cake budget.

Some very important questions for the bride

Q. When should I book my consultation/tasting?

A.  As soon as possible.  The only way to garauntee your cake caterer will be available when you need them is to book as early as possible; even up to 18 months ahead.  Wedding dates fill up fast.  This also allows you time to make any changes that may occur as your wedding draws near, whether it's the number of guests, your venue, your colors, et cetera.

Q.  How do I know how much cake to get?

A.  This really depends on the type of reception you plan to have and how many guests you expect to attend the reception.  If you cake is the main dessert then you will want to plan to feed as many people as possible.  I've never attended a wedding yet where each guest only ate one piece of cake if it's the only dessert option.

Keeping in mind that cakes are charged on a per slice bases, a quick calculation of the number of people times your per slice price will be a quick indicator of how much you are spending before you get to the details.  This is the biggest reason to know your budget.  A good cake caterer will be able to present you with many options to keep you within your budget while fullfilling your design needs and the amount of cake you need.

Remember, next to the brides wedding dress, your wedding cake is the second most remembered item in your wedding.  Whether your cake is elegant, funky, modern or classic and traditional, how it tastes and what it looks will be remembered for a long time.   Dont be afraid to ask questions and make sure you are comfortable and pleased with your consultation experience before you leave.

What to expect from us at your consultation:

Your consultation includes samples of your choice from our selection of cakes, frostings and fillings.  We will ask quesions, browse sketches and photos, and design your cake with you, right there.  Any follow up sketches or changes will be emailed to you for your approval before any work begins.   You will be provided with an estimate that is good for 3 weeks and a completed copy of your contract.  We also send one to you through email if necessary.

Please know that a consultation can take a little as 20 mintues to one hour.  Because your time is valuable we want to be as through and efficient as possible.  For this reason we prefer to keep the number of guests attending your consultation small, usually a total of four people.  Please let us know at the time of your scheduling how many people will be attending so that we may plan accordingly.  All our cakes, including samples served at tastings, are fresh baked and we to make sure to accommodate everyone.

A minimum deposit of 40% , but not less than $100, is due when signing your contract.  This fee does go towards your final balance and is the only way to garauntee your date is booked.

All  emails and phone calls are answered within 24 hours.
